The UK Parliamentary style debate was on the topic: “The House supports the complete removal of criminal records of non-violent first-time offenders immediately after they serve their sentences.”

The event took place on Friday 13th March 2020 at the UPSA Campus. It was a competition between the two (2) law faculties namely, the UPSA Law Faculty and the Lancaster University Law Faculty.

The event saw the Faculty of Law for UPSA coming out as the overall winners. A member of the Lancaster debating team however won the best debater award for the day.

The debaters put up a splendid performance and in the process did justice to the motion by providing persuasive arguments for and against the motion.

The audience also contributed to making the debate very educative since they were given the opportunity to ask questions and make critical assessments of the arguments presented by both debating teams.

Our Founder, Reginald Nii Odoi, who is himself a lawyer and has keen interest in such educative activities was very glad to have been given the privilege and opportunity to serve as a judge for the competition.

Our Founder encouraged the students to keep up the hard-work and expressed his admiration at the level of passion and advocacy that was displayed by the contestants. The students were admonished to give off their best in all academic activities as well as extra-curricular activities.

The Good Shepherd Love Foundation is very proud to have been a part of this event.
