TGSLF participates in the 2018 IDRAC

The Good Shepherd Love Foundation’s Founder, Reginald Nii Odoi, participated in the Virtual Ability, Inc’s conference on disability. Virtual Ability is an organization based in the United States founded with a mission to enable people with a wide range of disabilities by providing a supporting environment for them to enter and thrive in online virtual worlds and beyond.

 

Virtual Ability is a cross-disability peer support community that operates in online virtual worlds.

The conference known as the International Disability Rights Affirmation Conference (IDRAC) 2018, which took place 5 – 6th October, 2018 is an annual professional online conference that is free and open to the public. The conference took place in Second Life at The Sojourner Auditorium on Virtual Ability Island.

 

This year’s theme was “Taking Care of Us”. There were many lively discussions and information sharing among presenters and a very interested and interactive audience.

Reginald Nii Odoi, founder of the Good Shepherd Love Foundation, presented on the topic “We Are The World: Making It a Better Place.” As a practicing lawyer, the presentation explored the various barriers that persons with disabilities faced, especially in his native country Ghana. It further explored the laws role in making the lives of persons with disability better and more meaningful and focused on the ways by which the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations could be met in order to ensure that no one is left behind.

The presentation was very engaging and involved several questions from the audience who were very much enlightened by the presentation and the plight of persons with disability.

The Good Shepherd Love Foundation is a non-governmental organization registered under the laws of Ghana that seeks, finds and addresses the physical, spiritual, moral, emotional, psychological, financial, educational, health and other needs of the many vulnerable in society.
